Endless Rod Unit

The Lifting Solutions Endless Rod Units (ERU) are kept at top performance, so our team is ready when our clients call, 24/7.

The ERU is designed to support the servicing of Progressing Cavity Pump (PCP) or Reciprocating Rod Pump (RRP) applications. Our equipment is run by experienced crews ready to deploy when we get the call and who are an integral resource to our clients on the well-site.

ERU FLUSH-BY

The Lifting Solutions ERU is a fully self-sufficient unit designed to perform continuous sucker rod well interventions, such as pump changes (pulling out and running in) and parted rod jobs. Our longer mast can handle any length of the polished rod, on even the highest wellheads. Our hydraulically deployed work floor is designed to be used from 3ft to 12ft elevations. The operation is easily set up with our hydraulically deployed bear claw, which enables full-rated pull capacity. The ERU is equipped with lighting for working in dark conditions.

Features

  • Automated, hydraulically-deployed continuous sucker rod guide system
  • 48,000 lb capacity, mast-integrated, hydraulically-deployed continuous sucker rod open-faced gripper
  • Equipped with a fully hydraulically-deployed working floor that can be hydraulically set from 3ft to 12ft from the ground
  • Safely and efficiently services vertical wells

  • Two mast-mounted utility winches
  • Mast: 63ft from the bottom of the crown to the ground and 58ft from the bottom of the rod elevator to the ground

ERU – VERTICAL WAGGLE TAIL

The Lifting Solutions ERU is a highly specialized well-servicing rig. It is designed to install or remove Endless Rod. The main components of the ERU are the carrier, the rig base, mast, main winch and pulling unit. The carrier refers to the actual vehicle that transports the rig. The rig base can be further broken down into the deck and articulating slide frame.

The primary component of the ERU is the free-standing mast assembly. Everything required for the operation of the rig is run in conjunction with the mast. The main hook and travelling blocks are run up and down the mast using the main winch on a trolley system. The mast and main winch are mounted on an articulating slide frame to allow the mast to be centered over the wellhead.

The guide winch is used to position the rod guide assembly prior to servicing a well. The Rod Guide assembly is used to guide the continuous rod when coming out of the top of the pulling unit and down to a storage reel on the ground. The main winch assembly is made up of a two-speed hydraulic motor (some units have single speed), band brakes and a clutch assembly that disengage for freefalling jarring capability. The hydraulic main winch is capable of heavy pulling (i.e., unseating a pump at the end of a string of continuous rod). The ERU is also equipped with a smaller auxiliary winch. The auxiliary winch is used in conjunction with a rotating auxiliary winch arm swivel unit located on the mast crown and is used for handling equipment used in the normal servicing of a well. At the top of the mast (crown) is a safety device known as a crown saver. This device will apply the brakes on the winch if it were to raise a load too high in the mast.

A main component within the mast is the pulling unit. The pulling unit can be raised or lowered within the mast as needed to adjust to the height of the wellhead. The pulling unit uses its pressure beams to force the gripper pads against the Endless Rod. The pressure beams have a set of roller chains which allow the gripper chains to roll freely past the beams. A safety clamp system is situated below the pulling unit and is designed to stop and hold the Endless Rod in case of an emergency.
